How to make the most of your storage unit

With a little bit of sense, you can get the most out of your storage unit simply and without too many complications. It's normal to accumulate things and then not to have sufficient space for them, and this is why the key is in knowing how to make the very most of each nook and cranny as well as not wasting all the resources you find around you.

In your storage unit, the best thing is to establish an order depending on the use given to the various objects. If they are things that are rarely used, they should be stored at the back, keeping things that are used more frequently closer at hand, near the door.

To make the very most of your storage unit, the boxes should be more or less the same size, so that they can be stacked on top of each other. They should be sufficiently strong so that they don't break easily and so that heavy objects can be placed in them, to act as a base, offering security, with more fragile objects on top of them so they don't break.

The walls and the ceilings are a fundamental ally. Use all kinds of hangers and adhesive magnetic strips for storing numerous utensils, particularly tools. If you have a bicycle, why leave it on the floor taking up space if you can hang it up? Use shelves where you can place many objects. You should remember that all the metres can be used, in terms of width, length and height.

Don't forget to label everything possible in the storage unit. It's better to over use labels. They are useful so that everything follows an order and you know what is inside each of the boxes. So when you need to look for something, you will not end up getting frustrated. Try to keep related items together rather than random ones because it's very likely that when you need one you will also want to have the others close at hand.

To make the most of your storage unit, remember to protect furniture or clothes from any kind of dirt or damp by means of skins or protective covers.
